Origin and Diffusion
Of Italian origin with dual attitude, wool and meat. It derives from the half-breed population obtained by crossing breeds merinos Italian (Gentile di Puglia and Sopravissana) with genetic types Merino-European derivatives. Bred in Abruzzo, Basilicata, Umbria and Puglia.Morphological and Breeding Characteristics
- Size: medium-large
- Head: no hornes, slightly arched in males, straight in females.
- Weigh: Rams 90 Kg, Ewes 70 Kg
White fleece, a wool-end average. The current selection tends to improve the ability to produce meat, without depressing the qualitative aspect of the wool.
